What are cinema films?
Cinema films are designed to be used in motion picture cameras. For Kodak Vision 3 film stock, they come in 400 ft and 1000 ft lengths.
For the 35 mm format, we simply cut to the correct length and roll them into recycled canisters from local labs.
For 120 films, we need to slice 65 mm cinema film to around 61 mm width first before cutting to length. They are then rolled in recycled backing papers.
What is the difference between cinema film and still film?
The biggest difference is that cinema film has a layer of Remjet. It is a protective layer made of carbon particles to protect motion picture film when moving through a camera at a high speed. Please do not bring a film with Remjet to any local lab, since it will contaminate their chemical.
The film is designed for the ECN-2 process. However, these films can be processed in C41 chemical with great results, with Remjet removed first. When processed in ECN-2 chemical, the negative will be less dense and will give you slightly more latitude. However, it is harder to colour-correct when doing RA-4 print in the darkroom.
How to process these films?
For Eastman Double-X, you can process them in any regular B&W developer. Just go to The Massive Dev Chart and look up your preferred developer or take it to a local lab for the B&W process.
For all Vision 3 films, you can process them yourself. You can make a Remjet remover using baking soda. Then it can be processed with any C41 kit. Or using a ECN 2 kit. There is plenty of resources online.

No, but DX code stickers are avaliable for purchase from our site.
Why don't you use traditional packaging?
Rather than using traditional Plastic containers and plastic wrap for films, we decided to use brown paper coffee/tea bags for less plastic waste. It actually takes surprisingly long to pack a film. So please don't criticise us too much if the package is not perfect.
Unfortunately, we do have to use hot glue to affix the sticker to the wrapping and join two ends together. The original idea is to use the sticker itself to join both ends together, but the brown paper bag does not provide optimal surface adhesion. Do let us know if you have other ideas. We are open to suggestions.
Why offer plastic 3D-printed products if we worry about environmental issues?
We believe using plastic does not directly harm the environment. Only wasting is. Plastic has a lot of amazing features to be utilized, and often irreplaceable. 3D-printed products can be durable and functional. If we take care of them and dispose of them properly, it will only be beneficial.
Where do 3D models come from?
At this stage, all models are designed by us. All 3D printed products we sell will be open-sourced because we believe it is the future.
